Zombie Attack!

Could you survive a Zombie attack?

Well you are in luck, there is a Zombie Scenario Survivor Test.

I scored a 79% and was listed as an Official Surviror.
Whether through ferocity or quickness, you made it out. You made the right choice most of the time, but you probably screwed up somewhere. Nobody's perfect, at least you're alive.
I also scored higher than 77% of others of my age and sex.

It was fun, give it a try and tell me how you did.

Some people...

Oklahoma City (AP) - A seven-year-old boy was at the center of a Oklahoma City courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulations requiring that family unity be maintained to the degree possible.

The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried out that they also beat him.

After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him. After two recesses to check legal references and confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Oklahoma Sooners, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.

So, did you see that coming? Thanks Laura!

For those that don't know, those are the "Lost Numbers".

Ok, I'll start off with last nights Lost was great, but since my cousin hasn't seen it, I'll not talk about it.

Now, for those of you that can't get enough of Lost, one of the guys I work with sent me this link. It talks about the numbers, and how we've seen them in relation to the show.

Some people have way to much time on their hands.

Blahs

Well, I really hate it when I get this way, but I sorta have the blahs, and I'm not sure why.

The weather is GREAT!!!! I love it, so that isn't my problem. Work is going pretty good, so that isn't it either.

I did stumble across an interesting blog today that I wanted to share with everyone.
It is called Photo-A-Day. There are some really nice photos on the page.

Enjoy

I wanna play

Sorry to sound so whiny. I just want to play some games. I miss Everquest, shoot, I even miss Gemstone. I don't have the time to really play, but I still want to. I didn't mind paying a monthly fee when I was playing almost everyday, but I can't stand paying when I'm not playing.

I've got a few PS2 games that I'm playing, but still isn't the role playing games I love so much.

Anyway, I guess thats enough whining... Guess I'll got tuck in Sky and watch Lost.

Finally, an update

Sorry for the lack of posts, just not a lot post-worthy going on.

Work has been a bear! Busy from 8 till at least 5, and no time off for lunch. Seem to barely keep everything straight, and I don't see this getting any better anytime soon.

Monday night is visitation at church, so I rush home from work try to get a bite to eat, and head off to church.

Tuesday night is soccer practice. A bit slower of an evening, but still a busy day!

Wednesday night is of course church! So again, rush home from work, try to eat and head to church!

I did get some stuff done last week that didn't involve work. We got the rest of our garden pulled out and tilled except for the okra and jalapenoes. I did some tree trimming last week, well, I think it was last week, and I got all that hauled off on Saturday. Course, before I could work on that, my boy had his soccer game! Now that was a great game! A real intense game, especially for 4,5, and 6 year olds! I'm seeing some improvement in them, especially in one of my youngest players. That makes me happy.

After the game and the yard work, I went to a wedding. One of the guys I work with got married Saturday. It was a very nice wedding! And that really is saying something since I'd usually rather go to the doctor than a wedding! My believe is that most men only really want to go to 1 wedding, and then only cause they have to (that being their own).

Oh, and my daughter had a flat this morning... (well, I'm not sure how flat it was), but it has at least a 4 inch hole in it... When I reached around it, I could feel the metal in the tire. I just got off the phone setting up an appointment for tomorrow to get it fixed.

Well, enough gabbing I guess. Time to get back to work.

Lost Premier

Well, the premier was tonight... WOW! Since my cousin doesn't get to see it for a week, you'll get no details from me, other than to say WOW! Can't wait till next week.

Oh, and the 7:00 show was basically season 1 in 1 hour. Did a decent job. If you missed season one, defiantly watch it! Even if you hadn't, watch it!

Lost

Well, tonight starts season 2 of Lost at 8 p.m. CT.

At 7:00 tonight, there is another Lost titled "Destination Lost". I'm not sure if this is a Lost rerun or a show where they talk to the actors. Might want to turn in early to make sure.

Poke football - Arkansas State

Well, another game not televised.

Game final 20-10 Pokes!!!!
Arkansas state gave the pokes over 100 yards in penalties... probably should have been a better score than that.

I did have a chance to go. One of the vets at my wifes work was on call this weekend, and offered us the tickets for $40. If we had really had the money, I'd been all over it... but we didn't... not really.

Go pokes!!!!

Never happy

I just posted about President Bush's speech, and talked about how he would get flack for a stance he took, but would get it if he didn't take it?

Well, I happened to cruise over to CNN's web page, (I know, what do I expect from them), and they had a poll.

What do you think of Prsident Bush's Hurricane Katrina recovery plan?
Too ambitions
Just right
Not enough

Do you want to guess what people are saying?
Too ambitions - 28717
Just right - 26487
Not enough - 22147

Can't please anyone.

President Bush's New Orleans Speech

I listened to President Bush's speech last night. It was a very good speech!

  1. He tried to convey that these people are not alone! The country is here with them, and we will help them rebuild. The government will not abandon them.
  2. He took responsibility for the problems they have had getting help. In my personal opinion, this was not his fault, but as he stated in his speech, since he is the President, it is his responsibility. This I believe, I hope, is a good statement. I've heard so many people basically blame the hurricane itself on President Bush. That is just silly! Along the same lines, he also took responsibility to make sure people get the help they need! I'm sure he will get some flack for that, but I'm sure he would have if he hadn't taken that stance.
  3. He was not afraid to speak of God in this time! I know he has taken flack from so many people and organizations over this Faith, and how he doesn't care who knows!!!

As he was finishing his speech, he used the example of the old funerals you may have heard about in New Orleans... It's a very mournful dirge on the was to the funeral, but afterwards, it is joyful! He stated, we are in that dirge right now, but a time of celebration is coming!

"God Bless America!" is how he ended he speech!

Thank you Mr. President for that great speech! My God continue to bless you!

Free Word processor?

Well, there appears to be a new open source project out called Open Office.

In seem to have a word processor, spreadsheet, database, presentation maker, vector drawing tool, mathematical function creator.

Now, I'm not sure on the last 2, but the first ones would be the equivalent to Word, Excel, Access, Power Point.

With the cost of Microsofts products, this may be very interesting.

Focus on the unseen

While reading my Bible this morning, I came across a verse that really struck a cord in me.

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Cor 4:18
How I wish I could say that I do that, but many times, we turn that around. We get too concerned on what we are wearing, what we are driving, the speed of our computers, the size of our TV's, etc. But not on the condition of our hearts, of those of us around us.

What have you fixed your eyes on?

Lottery

I was disappointed to find out tonight that my favorite convenience store, Quik Trip, will sell lottery trash.

I have a feeling that it will become very difficult to find a convenience store to use once all this starts going.

Once I find a store that will have the moral backbone to stand up to the government bribes to push their ware, I will not only use that store, but I will promote that store!

I pledge Allegiance

I cannot believe what I just heard on the news tonight.

If you haven't heard, then you can read about it here, but a judge in California has declared the Pledge unconstitutional! That confuses me. Not only that, but the more I think about it, the more it makes me mad!

The people of that state should be ashamed to have such a man be a judge in their state!

We cannot allow small minded people to ruin this great country! If we do, it will stop being a great country, and we'll be a "once great" country. These are the same mistakes that Israel made that you can read about in the Bible.

You can sit back and think this will never stand... But we, as Christians, have done that before. What have we got? Prayers are no longer said at school. Prayers are no longer said at games. The 10 commandments cannot be posted at any public place.

So, what do you plan to do about it?
I pledge allegiance to the Flag
of the United States of America,
and to the Republic for which it stands:
one Nation under God, indivisible,
With Liberty and Justice for all.

SQ 723 Dies!!!

YEA!!!

The State Question did not pass! Not only did it not past, but it was creamed.

With 99% of the precincts reporting,

Yes: 50,969 13%
No: 347,795 87%

FIRE!!!

I was sitting at work today, working on a problem that sorta has me stumped, when the air conditioner fans cut off, and the fire alarm went off.

Well, we all start looking around, trying to figure out what to do.
"Is it real or a drill?"
"If it is real, they would say something over the intercom"
"They usually send out an email stating there will be a fire drill today"

Well, we decided to go ahead and go outside. I took my laptop, cause I love it so.
As we head down the stairs, smoke came out of the second floor door.

Wow, it's real.

Well, we ended up with about 6 fire trucks, and an ambulance here. after about 30 minutes or so outside, first and third floor people could come back in.

What seems to have happened was a belt on one of the A/C's was smoking, or something like that.

Anyway, a little excitement in my day.

Go Vote!

Remember to vote on SQ 723 sometime between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

If you want gas prices to go up another $.05 on the gallon, remember to vote YES.

For all the sane people out there, that would be the NO box you're looking for.

If you aren't old enough to vote, encourage others that are to get out and vote. Just because you aren't old enough to vote, doesn't mean you can't be involved.

Seriously though, get out and vote! Some people die trying to gain the right to have a say on the things their government does that effects them, don't take your privilege lightly.

Win an XBox 360?

A friend sent me this link earlier that I wanted to pass along.

Mountain Dew is giving away a XBox 360 every 10 minutes.
Just enter a code on their web page.

I would expect this to make Dew sales sky rocket.

Soccer Update

I just found out that one of the women I work with had a daughter on the opposing team yesterday. She gave me HUGE complements on our girls and how great they played, and how embarrassed her daughters team should be.

Her daughter, who usually plays competitive, commented about it as well. How we should never have gotten the ball and all the drama that was going on on their team.

Way to go girls!

SQ 723

Tuesday is the vote on State Question 723. This is a vote to raise gas taxes to help pay for road/bridge improvements.

I personally think this is not needed. What really needs to be done is the money that is coming in from automobile related taxes (gas, vehicle taxes, etc) need to be put back into roads.

It doesn't make much sense to me that the tax we already collect goes into non-vehicle items.

Steven has a post with links to items about this bill.

Remember to out and Vote on Tuesday!

It's my birthday!

Well, today is it... 33 (or 21 in hex) :)

It's been a pretty nice day. After church this morning, we came home and I cooked Tacos... homemade corn torillas. It was yummy. My son made me a home made birthday card... It was sweet. I got a new swimming suite for my birthday, my boy picked it out for me.

My daughter had a game at 3 today. 11 girls play on a field at a time. Our girls only have 10 on thier roster. Only 7 where there. about 10 minutes into the game, of the girls got hurt, possibly has a broken collar bone, but if she left the field, we forfiet. She didn't leave, but she didn't play much either. By half, the score was 1 to 0. Our girls did great, but my daughter was having a MAJOR asthma attack, another girl was on her way, and then their was the one that couldn't really play cause of being hurt. We called it at that point. We may get a rematch, we may not, but the girls played great!

Well, I guess birthdays make you think, though I don't remember doing that in the past, maybe it's this one, who knows.

God has just blessed my life so much, makes me wonder why. I have a wonderful wife, great kids, a nice job. I have friends that I can count on.

God is good!

Happenings

Well, I had a busy day today.

First off, my boy had his first soccer game of the season today. It was a lot of fun. It was a high scoring game. Probably over 20 per side... It was a lot!

After the game, he got to go spend the night at his old baby sitters house. He really likes going to visit, so that was good for him. Course, since tomorrow is my birthday, that also means it will be tomorrow afternoon before I get my present. :(

The best part of my day came after my wife got home from work... She took me to Stillwater to go to Eskimo Joes!!! I was so happy.

Cheese Fries and a Joes Special!!! They were sooooooooo Good! Nothing like them. Oh, and a color change cup for me!!! Most of my Joes cups have cracked or disappeared, so I needed a couple new cups.

After dinner, we went next door and I got a new Joes shirt! I love it!

We drove around the OSU Campus afterward too. Lots of memories, lots of changes. The Stadium is looking very good. Hopefully, I'll be able to go to a game next year.

Tomorrow is my birthday. I'll be 33. I guess that isn't too old, but I'm feeling it... Especially after being back in Stillwater today.

On the bright side, my daughter has a game tomorrow, so I'll get to watch her play tomorrow.

Well, I guess that is it. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Good News

Well, I've had a bit of good news this week.

My daughter and her boyfriend broke up!

I'm not trying to bash this boy... (atleast not where she might read it) LOL

I never really got to know him, but what bit I did get to know didn't impress me. He had a bad temper and didn't read my girl the way she should be treated.

I think she had seen this coming for some time, so she seems to be ok with it... well mostly anyway.

anyway, I had to share my good news with all.

Big Boy now

Well, my boy is getting so big.

When we moved into this house almost 6 years ago, we painted my boys room really cute. Blue walls then a watered down white paint swirled on top... almost looks like clouds. then we painted a white strip through the center, trimmed it out and stamped Bears, giraffes and elephants inside that white stripe.

Well, yesterday and today, my wife and he painted over the animals and put up race cars instead.

He is way impressed!

He's getting so big. My wife laughs at me, but I try to spend as much time with him as a little boy... He will soon out grow us, well, so he thinks. I just like these times when he thinks I have all the answers.

People tend to rush these years. I'm doing my best not to do that.

He's so cute.

OSU football - Florida Atlantic

Well, the game has started.
First thing out, one of the OSU players got hurt. Not good.

More later.

Well, it's later
Game ended with a final of 23 to 3 Pokes!!!

I was glad to see the points... I was a bit concerned first half, and if you watch the Pokes play, you know never get comfortable with a lead... they aren't called the choke pokes for nothing!

It was a good game. Florida Atlantic played a very good game!

FIFA World Cup 2006

Well, for those that don't know, the US made it into the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

First World Cup games will be June 9th, 2006 with the final on July 9th.

Not sure when the US will play. I'm sure I'll know more when it gets closer to the games.

Here is the official FIFA World Cup page

Better Fuel Gauge

While reading a post from one of my friends pages, she had a picture of a better fuel gauge.

I just had to share with the rest of ya'll.

BTW, thanks Kimber.

Tire Pressure

Last week I posted about ways you can get better gas mileage in your vehicle.

One of these items was make sure your tires are properly inflated. Well, I finally got around to that on our 3 cars last night and this morning.

My daughters car wasn't too bad, but need air in all her tires to bring them up to the 35 psi's recommended.

Mine and my wife's vehicles are another story.
Our car's tire pressure fluctuated between 30 and 35 pounds... They were suppose to be 44 psi's!

Oops!

Our truck was even worse. They fluctuated between 20 and 25 pounds... They were also suppose to be at 44 psi's!

Double oops!

Anyway, they have now been corrected.

Now go and check your tire pressure!

Gilligan died today

I am sad.

I just found out that Bob Denver (AKA Gilligan) died today at the age of 70.

That makes me sad.

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
a tale of a fateful trip.
That started from this tropic port,
aboard this tiny ship.
The mate was a mighty sailin' man,
the skipper brave and sure.
Five passengers set sail that day,
for a three hour tour, a three hour tour………
The weather started getting rough,
the tiny ship was tossed.
If not for the courage of the fearless crew,
the Minnow would be lost; the Minnow would be lost.
The ship took ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle,
with Gilligan, the Skipper too,
the Millionaire, and his Wife,
the Movie Star, the Professor and Mary Ann,
here on Gilligan's Isle.
I smile everytime I hear that song.
*sigh*

Weekend Funeral

Well, I did something different over the weekend. I helped at a funeral. The cousin of a woman at our church died and her funeral was this weekend. My pastor called me Friday and asked if I would help lead the music Saturday at it.

We got to the funeral home, in Sperry, a bit early. I ended up getting his wireless mic working. That funeral home was something else.

It is a weird experience being at a funeral of someone you don't know.

It was nice to be able to just help comfort people that have lost loved ones.

Truth from a 5 year old

Today after church, we went to Skiatook to get gas at walmart. Their gas price was 2.95, and if you use the WM gift card, you got .05 off a gallon which made it just 2.90... who'd thought I would ever say only 2.90 when talking about gas?

While their we went to a mexican restraunt. It was crazy... I'm not sure the waiter spoke english... I ordered 2 cheese enchiladas with beans. my wife, 2 cheese enchilads with rice and enchilada sause on the side, my son, a hamburger and fries. Anyway, they brought out my wifes meal (no enchilada sause) and my sons burger. A few minutes later, I got my dinner, but I had rice, no beans. The guy takes it back and he wasn't very far away when my son replies with, "Well, this is a lousy waitor!" And as 5 years are, he wasn't quiet about it. hehe

I told my wonderful wife that he gets that from her! LOL

She pointed out that is must be true if even HE noticed.

It was funny, I just had to share with all of you.

OSU football - Montana State

Well, OSU won their first football game this season. They beat Montana State 15-10.

We were at my in-laws, and the game wasn't televised, so I kept going out to the car and listening for a few minutes to see what the score was. From what I could hear, it sounded like a good football game.

More car problems

And I'm not talking about gas.

My girl called me tonight about 11:15 p.m. or so waking me up with "My car broke down."

*sigh*

I was very happy with myself... I did not get discouraged or mad. I told her I was on my way, and said a little prayer. Everything we have, no matter what, is Gods... He is just letting us use it for a while. He is in charge.

(I was happy cause I'm usually very discouraged with car problems, they are usually expensive.)

Anyway, I get to where she is at, just a few miles down the road and turn around and take a look. She said she saw the charge light come on, the engine sorta revved, the check engine light came on, and it died.

I asked here if she had left the radio on or anything like that, she said her parking lights were on while she was at work tonight, but it started, so she figured she could get home and put it on the charger.

Well, first things first, Try to charge it and see if we can get it home and off the highway.
Well, it was sorta charging, but not really keeping it. Once you turn on the lights, the charge light comes on.

Well, just a couple weeks ago I replaced the alternator, so I looked at the wire that goes from it to the battery. When I tried to wiggle it, it wiggled. My daughter told me the charge light went off. Ok, lose wire hopefully. Get my wrench out, and go to tighten it... it had almost completely worked itself lose. I tightened it back on and charged it for a moment, and she came home, no problems. We put it on the charger to charge overnight, and we'll check it in the morning.

So, it basically turns out to be nothing.

See! God really is faithful... Not that I really doubt, but Satan has his way of getting in there and taking my eyes off of God, and just really making my life miserable.

And on the bright side, me and my girl had a good hour of together time... It was actually quite nice.

Do things right the first time!

Ok, I'm irritated.

Is it so much to ask that people take the time to make what they are working on the right way the first time instead of having to go through extra steps later on?

Maybe it's just me. Maybe I'm one of the few people in the world that like stuff done the right way the first time than just getting things to work, and worry about problem with the quick solution later.

Everyone's lives are so much better when things are done the right way the first time.

*sigh*
